80 Basic Function:
Performs custodial duties to provide for care, cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings, furniture, and fixtures according to established work rules.
Reports to Custodial Work Supervisor, Building and Grounds Supervisor/Superintendent, or other designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes to renew floor surfaces; cleans and shampoos carpets.
Cleans, dusts, and waxes furniture and fixtures; shampoos upholstered furniture; washes walls; cleans glass and mirrors; removes and hangs drapes.
Empties and cleans trash receptacles.
Changes light bulbs and cleans light fixtures.
Scrubs, cleans, and sanitizes restrooms and shower facilities; replenishes supplies.
Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; may set up rooms for functions and events.
Maintains a clean and orderly supply closet; monitors supply levels and reports supply needs to supervisor.
May perform minor maintenance; may assist with painting.
Reports evidence of fire, illegal entry, and theft of property.
May remove snow and ice from walkways; may assist with mowing; may pick up paper and other debris in area surrounding buildings.
May train and direct student or temporary employees; may participate in training new employees.
Performs related duties as required.
