Job Summary The Maintenance Helper is responsible for a wide variety of duties to assist in maintaining plant facilities.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, he/she assists in troubleshooting breakdowns and repairing equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Works with the Maintenance Supervisor in inspecting and identifying equipment in need of repair.
Communicates with management and staff on all equipment repairs until equipment is properly functioning again.
Follows all safety procedures as required, including lockout/tagout and other OSHA regulations, when completing repair work.
Assists in performing general repairs including drywall, painting, and repairing doors or other fixtures.
Performs preventive maintenance and routine inspections per equipment specifications at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Alerts the Maintenance Supervisor about supply levels, so parts and materials needed for repair and maintenance are in stock.
Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities during downtime (wipes down surfaces, etc.
).
Is reliable and punctual in reporting to work as scheduled.
Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

Maintenance Supervisor Required Competencies Basic understanding of machine operations Ability to use hand and power tools Strong organization and time management skills Self-motivated and solid work ethic Willingness to learn and take direction Education & Experience High school diploma or GED Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 lbs.
