6K a year 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago We are looking for an experienced Shipping Manager to manage daily shipping and distribution operations.
You will be the one to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner as well as control of all inbound and outbound materials and internal inventory control.
A successful shipping supervisor is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication.
They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and inventory procedures.
The goal is to ensure that the shipping processes are running smoothly and effectively.
Also, to ensure daily that all loads scheduled for the day are shipped on time and complete when possible.
Shipping Functions Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Attend daily meetings to discuss production and shipping schedules.
Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick tickets, bills of lading, etc.
Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment.
Manages and maintains daily shipping schedule.
Review daily orders and order any need materials via email from 316 or 14th street.
Inspect labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders.
Process outgoing shipments through company ASC system and shipping station as required.
Supervise and lead subordinates.
Collaborate with Shipping manager regarding warehouse capabilities to optimize process of warehouse organization and efficient staging and load times.
Have ability to obtain freight quotes from various carriers.
Resolve issues regarding any potential short, shipped orders.
Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies.
Assist with Physical Inventory preparation, research of count discrepancies and provide assistance with month end closing.
Responsible for keeping the warehouse as well as work area clean and organized.
Report to management on activities and issues Performs all other duties as assigned.
Inventory Control Functions:
Follows our safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Performs cycle counts as assigned on Bill of Material's inventory for reconciliation in system.
Completes physical audits of inventory with any issues after cycle count (too much, too little, incorrect locations, physical labeling issues, quality questions, etc.
) Audits designated areas that need special attention or are being tracked for information to create process change/improvements approved by stake holders and authorized by management.
Trains new employees on proper inventory control processes and scan gun usage Acts as subject matter expert (SME) on inventory processes and tasks relating to good manufacturing processes, cleanliness, safe storage, and daily inventory control functions.
Assist material handling operators in solving problems and issues that arise to keep inventory moving accurately and efficiently, production flowing, and orders producing or shipping as needed.
Requirements:

Years work related experience.
High School diploma:
degree in supply chain, logistics or relative field is a definite plus.
Strong organization skills Knowledgeable of logistics procedures Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates.
Strong communications skills, verbal, written and face to face.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Suite Excellent attention to detail with high degree of accuracy Fork-Lift Certified or willing for onsite certification.
All work is performed in a manufacturing environment which may be hot/cold and always requires the use of PPE (eyeglasses, ear plugs where required, etc.
